‘My Identity: a Disassociation’
Have you ever daydreamed
about getting done screaming?
Have you ever actualized the headache
from doing so? Ever laid in bed
in anguish from doing an act you’ve
not committed? Have you ever been
full of a meal you’ve not eaten, or
felt rested from a slumber you’ve
not received? An internalized war, one
done in plain sight.
You, a trooper who’s proven going through
such hasn’t killed you. You’re the body-
trying to find where it stands, what side,
yours, or the side that’s failing in causing
you bodily demise?
