It's noon and the sun is at its peak for the day.
The sun is shining high above the earth.
Kissing the hilltop I am resting and had found refuge on.
The sun's rise provides me with warmth,
though the warmth and rest weren't what I set out to find.
The clouds are big and full
painted almost like artwork on the wide blue sky.
The sweet summer wind blows
making shapes in the clouds
creating entertainment for those who'll watch it.
Gale blows holding birds by the wing
from place to place almost like a nurturing mother
holding the hand of her child
making sure they're safe.
The birds are singing.
Melodies their own form of communication, but to me nature puts on a live orchestra,
the trees appear to dance to the music,
blades of grass almost look like wind chimes.
As I lay in a bed made from grass and dandelions,
I did not set out for a bed to lay down on,
I did not set out to attend a live concert or
an art gallery today.
For today
upon this hilltop
my soul awaits eagerly.
Time is ticking down
as the day passes me by,
lingering here and there,
keeping me company
like an old friend
before going on their way.
But this company
does not achieve my goals.
This company
is not what I've been waiting to find.
It only reminds me of what I want.
For before you
finally arrived
there would have been
No One
who's worth the motionless and shallow wait.
My heart destined
for the one,
the only one.
You, my love is
a glorious summer sunbeam
to my heart
that's been trapped
in winter by the world.
For to you, I'm a plant
that needs your natural affection to exsist.
As I absorb
the water and the light
of your love
I blossom like a sunflower and dance
with gratitude to you,
because of you
I will never wither.
Everything I show
weakness in,
you show strength,
while in retrospect
I am your mirror opposite
showing strength in
the reflection of your weakness.
Therefore we make each other whole.
Upon this pleasant day
I lay awake in this bed of dandelion quietly and full of excited ponder
for you gracefully ready for your arrival.
And yet
I have still to bloom, but
when I finally see you
my heart will flutter
almost as if a butterfly taking off for the first time.
For as we fly in the heavens, above the darkness and the gloomy clouds
that casts mischievous shadows upon the earth.
We'll see nothing, but beauty
When I look into your eyes,
the gental twilight twinkling like stars will set my soul and I free.
For the might I just be,
might just be allowed to live and thrive above restrictive expectations.
